Maria Spyraki

Maria Spyraki is the awarded MEP of the year 2019 for Industry, Research, and Innovation. She is now serving in her second mandate in the European Parliament as member of the Committees on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE), on Regional Development (REGI) and on the Environment (ENVI). She has also worked for 22 years as a journalist in her home country Greece. She has also worked in the Press Office of the European Parliament in Athens from 2003 to 2004, as well as the office of Greek Commissioner to the EU, Mr. Stavros Dimas, for the period 2004-2009.
Maria Spyraki has served as the Spokesperson of Nea Demokratia and is an elected member of the Nea Demokratia Executive Board. Her first degree is in Chemistry and she also studied economics and energy policy.

Pilar del Castillo Vera

Former Minister of Education and Culture from 2000 to 2004, del Castillo was elected to the EP for the first time in 2004. She belongs to the Partido Popular (People’s Party), which in turn is a member of the European People’s Party. She has been, among others, the European Parliament’s rapporteur on the European Electronic Communications Code; the Telecoms Single Market Regulation; the Directive on Security of Networks and Information Systems for the ITRE committee; the Regulation on the Body of European Regulators in Electronic Communications’ (BEREC); the report on Cloud Computing Strategy for Europe and the Report “A Digital Agenda for Europe: 2015.eu”, to name just some examples. Del Castillo is the Chair of the European Internet Forum (EIF), Vicepresident of the European Energy Forum, member of the board of Knowledge4Innovation (K4I) and member of the Transatlantic Policy Network.

Patrizia Toia

Patrizia Toia worked as Director of the Planning Service at Lombardy Region. She served as regional councillor, Member of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Italian Senate as well as Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister for European Affairs and for Relations with Parliament.
In 2004 she was elected at the European Parliament. Member of the S&D Group, she is Vice-Chair of the ITRE Committee.

Stewart Lane

Having completed a degree in manufacturing engineering at Hatfield Polytechnic and L’Ecole d’Ingenieurs, France in 1994, Stewart early career was spent working for several years as an engineer and Quality Manager in the French and Swedish automotive industry. In 2000, Stewart joined his current employer, Renishaw plc. For the past 5 years, he has held a number of corporate positions, including responsibility for general management of Renishaw’s UK and Ireland sales subsidiary and as the Group’s Corporate Business Development Manager. During this time he has been instrumental in establishing Renishaw’s Additive Manufacturing customer solution centres and setting up strategic alliances with other Additive Manufacturing companies. 

Filip Geerts

Filip Geerts is the Director General of CECIMO. He is specialised in the management of corporate and governmental affairs departments of companies, national and EU trade associations and non-profit organisations. He was deputy-director for the largest Belgian association for the technology industry, public and regulatory affairs manager for IBM (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and secretary general for numerous European trade associations. He has degrees from Insead Fontainebleau and Singapore, London School of Economics, Vlerick, College of Europe, The Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve and the Catholic University of Leuven in commercial engineering

Ulf Johannesson

 Ulf Johannesson has a degree in electronics engineering and an Executive MBA from University of Gothenburg. Before joining GE Additive and the additive industry Ulf (Johannesson) has 20+ years of experience from instrumentation and automation for the oil & gas industry. Ulf (Johannesson) has had several positions, such as Service Manager, Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager and Manager Product Marketing & Product Management. Also was a member of several industry leading committees. Today Ulf (Johannesson) is leading the service organization globally for Arcam EBM at GE Additive. The scope covers installation, maintenance & technical service, global support functions, application support, as well as training and documentation for customers and engineers. Ulf is a member of the management team.

Waldemar Hirsch

Waldemar Hirsch is responsible for 3D printing of jigs and fixtures at Audi Sport. He coordinates the 3D printing activities within the production of Audi AG. He is also responsible for the mechanical analysis in the production of Audi Sport and the innovation management for the production. Before the time of 3D printing, Waldemar worked as a developer for process, method, and technology after studying automotive engineering in Cologne.

Christian-Haecker

Christian is Head of AM industrialization at Oerlikon, and he is spearheading the growth of AM and its acceptance as a mainstream supplier for series production across industries. His ambition is to establish Oerlikon as the globally recognized AM market leader.
Before joining Oerlikon AM, Christian acted as consultant for various international market leaders establishing their engineering, their business and market launch strategies. He also spent nearly 10 years as a management and technology consultant at TCW in Munich as a Head of Practice for Operations and Post-Merger Integration.
Christian has a degree in mechanical engineering and business administration degree from the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt as well as a PhD in business administration from the Technical University of Munich. Prior to his formal studies, he spent 5 years in software development.

Michele Pressacco

Michele Pressacco is Vice President of Research&Development at LimaCorporate since 2014. Michele has been employed with LimaCorporate for 18 years. Previously he has covered different roles within the Product Development Division where he has contributed with over 20 patents and the launch of several successful products. Michele has been involved in the additive manufacturing industry since 2000 and has written numerous related articles and presented at various symposiums. Michele Pressacco holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Udine and successfully completed the Leading Product Innovation Course at the Harvard Business School. He is member of the Management Team and the IP Board within LimaCorporate.

Davide Ferrario

Davide Ferrario is the Research & Development Manager at Streparava, a Tier 1 and system supplier in the automotive industry having as core business the design, testing and manufacturing of complete suspension systems and powertrain components. During his career he had the opportunity to explore the application of new technologies aimed at reducing the weight and improving the performances of products for different vehicles applications, such as sport cars, commercial vehicles, trucks & buses, agricultural vehicles etc. These innovations were also recognised by the scientific community and resulted in several patents and research papers.

Daniel Michaels

Daniel Michaels is Brussels Bureau Chief of The Wall Street Journal, overseeing coverage of European affairs. Previously he was the Journal’s German Business Editor, and its Aerospace & Aviation Editor for Europe. Before beginning his 25-year career with the Journal, based in Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and Warsaw, Mr. Michaels was a management consultant in New York.

Susana Solís Pérez

Susana Solís is an Industrial Engineer from the University of Oviedo, Machine Engineer from the Fachhochschule de Osnabrück (Germany), holds an MBA from the Business Institute and a Master’s Degree in Marketing Management from the Insituto de Empresa (Madrid). She has over 18 years of professional experience in several multinationals in Germany (Mercedes Benz, Robert Bosch) and in Spain (Rexel, Essilor and Johnson & Johnson). In May 2015, she was elected Deputy in the Parliament of Madrid, being the spokeswoman for Ciudadanos in the Committee on Budgets, Economy, Finance and Employment. Since May 2019 she is MEP in the European Parliament in the Renew Europe group and a member of the ITRE, ENVI, REGI and FEMM Committees.
