The European Machine Tools Industry Bounces Back Despite an Uncertain Global Market

Brussels, 14 June 2022 ? During the last General Assembly meeting, held in Edinburgh, CECIMO outlined that in a time of geopolitical challenges, alongside other disruptive factors that shake global economies, Europe's Machine Tool (MT) sector continues its recovery in 2022. On the policy side, together with eminent speakers from the political and business arena, European Machine Tool producers debated on key sectoral issues such as digital transformation, supply chain disruptions, standardisation issues, and sustainability.

Key Market Trends in the Additive Manufacturing Sector- May 2022

Between March and May 2022, CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies, organized the fourth round of its European Additive Manufacturing Survey, which aims to assess key market trends in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) sector.

FROM OUR ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT

CECIMO released a new Economic and Statistical Toolbox looking at data for the first quarter of 2022. The first period of 2022 shows further positive trends in the recovery of Europe's Machine Tool (MT) Industry with orders reaching record levels. In line with that, the Industrial Production Index (IPI) shows a further improvement in Q1 2022 in the European Union (EU) as well as in the eurozone. Looking ahead, challenges such as supply chain disruptions caused by potential new lockdowns in China and the Russian war in Ukraine could slow the production growth in the following quarters.

Metaltechnology Austria

Metaltechnology Austria? is the national Austrian representation of all enterprises active in mechanical and plant engineering, steel construction and metalware production. After more than two years, TRINITY partners had the pleasure to meet physically again for the General Assembly held in Leuven on the 15th and 16th of June. It was a great occasion to discuss the last year of the project?s activities and the exploitation of its results. Being back to 'normal' also meant enhanced participation in international fairs such as the R-22 in Odense and the upcoming ERF22 in Rotterdam, and IndTech22 in Grenoble.
