What we do
CECIMO is the European data hub for the machine tool sector, as there is no other complete source openly available on the European MT industry and its competitive position in the global market. Anyone, who wants to learn about Europe’s position in manufacturing and trade of machine tools and related technologies, can find up-to-date figures and key statistics on the CECIMO website.
How we do it
CECIMO collects data from its member associations and other non-European partner associations to monitor domestic and foreign orders and shipments. This is made possible by participation to an international statistical exchanges and studies, and by long-standing collaborations with associations in major European and non-European countries.
Who does it
This data is produced by the CECIMO Economic Department, which aggregates national inputs to produce up-to-date information on the evolution of the global market of machine tools and related manufacturing technologies. Throughout the year, the Economic Department collaborates with other associations. In particular:
- Statistical Projects Team
The statistical projects team, composed of representatives of the national associations, statisticians and economic advisors, stay in contact throughout the year to exchange data. It also generates, proposes and discusses new ideas to improve the quality of the information we produce. It holds bi-annual meetings to discuss the latest market trends, agree on the communication of figures, prepare the Economic Committee’s presentation at the General Assemblies, and create new tools or methodologies to improve the gathering of statistical information.
- Non-CECIMO Machine Tool Associations
CECIMO has long-standing cooperation with non-European machine tools associations. We meet international partners on average once a year during the International General Managers Meeting.
