Upcoming event: Additive manufacturing and 3D-Printing challenges in the EU

CECIMO will take part on 2 February 2016 in the event “3D-Printed in Europe - Additive Manufacturing and 3D-Printing challenges in the EU¨ held in the Covent Garden Building, in Brussels. Organized by the European Commission Directorate General Research and Innovation (DG RTD), with whom CECIMO has been maintaining a long-term relationship, the event will propose an exhibition of companies and other stakeholders active in additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing, including CECIMO, the voice of European metal AM industries, as well as a conference.
During the conference, representatives from the European Commission will intervene to present the EC activities and support, specifically addressing 3D printing. Among the confirmed speakers are Clara de la Torre, Director for Key Enabling Technologies, DG RTD who will open the conference, José Lorenzo Vallés, Head of Unit RTD/2 whose intervention will focus on “Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Biotechnologies, and Paula Queipo, from PRODINTEC, who will address the “Strength and weaknesses of Europe in the AM/3DP scenario.” Andrea Gentili, Programme Officer, RTD/D2 will serve as facilitator in the Q&A session closing conference.
Visitors of the exhibition will discover the successful Horizon 2020 funded projects on additive manufacturing, as well as European Universities and Corporations’ successful initiatives in the additive manufacturing arena.
CECIMO will participate with its own booth and present the activities of its members and of its Additive Manufacturing Working Group, continuously enriched by the participation of national members associations.
