The debate will focus on the importance of ensuring that machinery and equipment placed
on the EU single market comply with essential health and safety requirements. The conversation
will address challenges in market surveillance, including insufficient enforcement and gaps in
knowledge or deliberate non-compliance by some manufacturers. Emphasis will be placed on
the need for stronger cooperation between manufacturers, customs authorities, and market
surveillance bodies to improve compliance, protect workers, and ensure fair competition within
the European market.
