Welcome to the CECIMO Spring Meeting, hosted by SWISSMEM in the vibrant city of Basel.

SATURDAY | 6 JUNE

The CECIMO Spring Meeting 2026 will begin with a Board Meeting (reserved for Board members only), setting the scene for the days ahead and addressing key organisational and strategic matters. In the evening, all delegates and their partners are invited for Cocktails and a Keynote followed by the Welcome Flying Dinner, an informal opportunity to reconnect, network, and officially kick off the Spring Meeting in Basel.

SUNDAY | 7 JUNE

Second day will be dedicated to the social programme, offering delegates and partners the opportunity to explore Basel’s rich cultural and historical heritage. The programme includes a dedicated guided tour of the Tinguely Museum not only focussing on the interesting and somewhat “industrial machine orientated” work of Jean Tinguely but also on its building, designed by Swiss star architect Mario Botta. After a light lunch themed on the very specific carnival culture of Basel, a guided tour through Basel’s historic Old Tow will provide insights into the city’s history, architecture and its role as a leading centre for industry, innovation and culture. MONDAY | 8 JUNE

Monday will focus on the Spring Meeting’s main theme, “Advanced Manufacturing: Securing Europe’s Global Competitiveness,” through panel discussions on AI in production, advanced utilization of Additive Manufacturing as well as the challenges and opportunities for defence manufacturing. A dedicated session will examine China’s manufacturing strategy and its implications for Europe’s machine-tool industry, alongside discussions on how industrial policies are shaping competitiveness, investment, and supply chains. The day will conclude with a Gala Dinner at the historic ball room “Zunftsaal” of the Safran Zunft.

TUESDAY | 9 JUNE

The final day of the CECIMO Spring Meetings will begin with inputs & discussions on the current economic situation and trends as well as their implications for the European machine-tool industry. It will be followed by an Open Forum, giving delegates the opportunity to raise topics and issues not covered in the main programme. This program point is also providing space to exchange views on priorities for the months ahead. The Spring Meetings 2026 will conclude with the General Assembly, followed by a farewell lunch.
