AM-Europe & ASTM International Sign MoU to Strengthen AM Collaboration

During the ASTM International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing in Las Vegas last week, AM-Europe, operated by CECIMO, and ASTM International signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new milestone in their shared mission to build a strong, connected, and innovative additive manufacturing (AM) ecosystem. 

The cooperation between AM-Europe, operated by CECIMO, and ASTM International directly supports the objectives outlined in the AM-Europe Manifesto, which calls for coordinated action to strengthen Europe’s global leadership in additive manufacturing. The partnership reinforces the Manifesto’s priorities and commits both parties to joint initiatives that will further advance the AM sector.

This partnership will enable the exchange of best practices and expertise, joint work on international AM standards, skills and workforce development across Europe, support for policy and innovation initiatives, and coordinated events to strengthen and promote the AM community. 

CECIMO Director General, Filip Geerts emphasised that the new partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening Europe’s additive manufacturing ecosystem: 

“The AM-Europe Manifesto defines our vision for a strong and competitive European additive manufacturing ecosystem — one that is collaborative, data-driven, and globally connected. This cooperation with ASTM International reinforces our commitment to that vision, ensuring that European expertise and global standards development go hand in hand in driving the future of advanced manufacturing.” 

The MoU between AM-Europe, operated by CECIMO and ASTM International signals a shared ambition to foster a standards-led and innovation-oriented AM landscape. Together, both organisations will connect European leadership with global best practices to accelerate AM adoption, boost industrial competitiveness, and create lasting value for industry and society.
