CECIMO Report “The Future of the Machinery Directive”

CECIMO published a report on the future of the machinery directive, based on the breakfast briefing of 5 December 2019. The document summarizes the position of the industry, the European Commission and other stakeholders on such a topical legislation.

In particular, representatives of these categories go through the positive and negative aspects of a possible revision. Each of them explains his/her view on digital technologies, cybersecurity, safety and standards. For example, Massimo Carboniero, Chairman of the CECIMO Technical Committee, confirmed that future changes should allow companies to improve the procedures and don't add exponential charges.
